My Bio

Curtis Reliford

Actually, I’m just an ordinary man, trying to do the right thing. I know I can’t help everybody, but this is a good start. I began this work in 2005 - delivering food, clothes and building materials to the survivors of hurricane Katrina. Since then I’ve brought supplies to victims of a string of disasters in Texas and the Camp Fire in Paradise, California. I’ve gone to the Hopi, Navajo, Pine Ridge and Standing Rock reservations and even Mexico, bringing donations of housewares, linens and clothing.  Since I was born and raised on Elm Grove plantation in the same type of poverty, I can relate to the people. Listening to the stories at sacred circles has transformed my life and made me more dedicated to doing service work.
